Day 2: Brecon to Rhayader
Day 2: Brecon to Rhayader
The second day started with a bit of a killer uphill out of Brecon, straight from the door step of the pub we stayed at overnight.
After this we travelled onwards towards Llyswen mainly on very well surfaced A roads.
From here we followed the path of the Wye River north on quiet lanes until we reached Newbridge-on-Wye.
We deviated away from the river at this point and started climbing the hills in the Coed Erwbant forest. It was here that things took a turn for the worse on day 2. An expected section of gravel turned out to be in fact a bog with sections of rock garden thrown in for good measure.
After several miles of this hell, we ended back on quiet country lanes for the remainder of our day into Rhayader.
